WELCOME TO OUR PRESENTATION
With examples and integration mind list all media and technology equipment, programs and anything worth mentioning that can be used in a classroom.
MEDIA
   Media (singular medium) are the storages and transmission channels or tools used to store and deliver information or data (http://www.medialiteracyweek.ca/en/101_whatis.htm)
   Media it is categorized into three groups print media, visual media and audio media.

 TECHONOLOGY
      Technology is the making, modification, usage, and knowledge of tools, machines, techniques, crafts, systems, and methods of organization, in order to solve a problem, improve a pre-existing solution to a problem, achieve a goal, handle an applied input or output relation or perform a specific function. Technology equipments




Projector
Media and technology has evolved and become more central to teaching and learning (D’ Angelo and Woosley, 2007).
Technology play a large role in education. Therefore integrating technology in is an important because of how technology act as change catalyst. 
Media and technology equipment and programs strength learning process.
The following is the lists of media, technology equipment and programs that has been currently used in the classroom. From order one to more recent one (D’ Angelo and Woosley, 2007).
 Chalkboard .The chalkboard is a flat, vertical writing surface on which anything can be inscribed by means of a piece of chalk. http://www.answers.com/topic/chalkboard#ixzz2piZIVn00



Chalkboard is used for writing material that are delivered by a teacher or students in a classroom
Overhead projector. An overhead projector is a variant of slide projector that is used to display images to an audience (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overhead_projector).



The overhead projector (OHP) has value in almost all instruction in the classroom it can be used under normal lighting condition. It is inexpensive to purchase and maintain.
Overhead projector (OHP) is applied by teachers in presentation of material in the classroom.

Photographs. Photographs is an image created by light falling on a light sensitive surface, usually photographic film or electronic. 
 Most of photographs are created using camera which uses a lens of focus the scene’s visible wavelength of light into reproduction of what the human eye would see.
Photography allows to expression of non-verbal way of emotions, thoughts, ideas, and feelings as well as focusing on taking aesthetically appealing photographs. 


 Interactive white board. An interactive whiteboard (IWB) is a large interactive display that connects to a computer, whereby a projector projects the computer’s into the board’s surface where user control the computer using a pen, finger and stylus.
  Interactive whiteboard are used in a variety of setting including classrooms of all levels of education



Newspaper. Newspaper is among of a print media which acts as an effective teaching aid to social studies, they motivate the learners to know about the past events since the pupils are interested on what is happening such as election or a recent inversion (Singh, 2004).




Radio. Radio originally device for entertainment purpose, the radio is now being widely used for education by direct contact with a great personality (Singh, 2004).
  Radio applied in order to enable students to listen to the expect, the historian and the scientist and fast  rate teacher.  




Computer and its related technology 
  Computer is a general purpose device that can be programmed to carry out a set of arithmetic or logical operations  (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer).
 Computer and its related technologies such as Laptop, work stations, servers, power point, blog and multimedia based objects as well as office productivity software.

Instructional television is the use of television programs in the field of education in providing instructions (Singh, 2004).
 Television can be used in the of absence  projector to provide information, materials to the learners, this can be done through educational films and various television programs  where learners can learn from or with.

 PROGRAMS
operate computers and related devices. (The term hardware describes the physical aspects of computers and related devices.)
 Software is often divided into
application software (programs that do work users are directly interested in) and system software (which includes operating systems and any program that supports application software).
The term
middleware is sometimes used to describe programming that mediates between application and system software or between two different kinds of application software (for example, sending a remote work request from an application in a computer that has one kind of operating system to an application in a computer with a different operating system (http://searchsoa.techtarget.com/definition/software
Software is a general term for the various kinds of programs used t0 instruct computer on what to do.


P0WER POINT
PowerPoint is a complete presentation graphics package. It gives you everything you need to produce a professional-looking presentation. PowerPoint offers word processing, outlining, drawing, graphing, and presentation management tools- all designed to be easy to use and learn (http://homepage.cs.uri.edu/tutorials/csc101/powerpoint/power.html).


MICROSOFT WORD
 Microsoft Word (often called Word) is a graphical word processing program that users can type with. It is made by the computer company Microsoft (http://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft Word)
The purpose of the MS Word is to allow the users to type and save documents




MICROSOFT EXCEL
Excel is an electronic spreadsheet program that can be used for storing, organizing and manipulating data (

ADOBE READER
Adobe Reader is a free program created and distributed by Adobe Systems. It is used to open PDF documents. PDFs can be a wide variety of files, such as images, text documents, forms, books, or any combination of these. They are cross-platorm, meaning each PDF will look the same on a Windows computer as it will on a Mac(. http://pc.net/helpcenter/answers/purpose_of_adobe_reader

GOOGLE CHROME
 Combines a minimal design with sophisticated technology to make the Web faster, safer and easier. The Google Chrome browser offers features including access to favorite pages instantly with thumbnails, desktop shortcuts to launch Web applications, and independently run tabs within the browser to prevent browser crashing. Chrome browser is available for Windows Vista and Windows XP SP2.(

MOZILLA FIRE FOX 
  Firefox is a Web browser that is smaller, faster, and in some ways more secure than the Mozilla browser from which much of its code was originally derived. Compared to Internet Explorer, the most popular Web browser, Firefox gives users a cleaner interface and faster download speeds. VCL MEDIA PLAYER
VLC media player (commonly known as VLC) is a portable, free and open-source, cross-platform media player and streaming media server written by the VideoLAN project.
 VLC media player supports many audio and video compression methods and file formats, including DVD-Video, video CD and streaming protocols. It is able to stream over computer network and to transcode multimedia files.
The default distribution of VLC includes a large number of free decoding and encoding libraries, avoiding the need for finding/calibrating proprietary plugins. Many of VLC's codecs are provided by the libavcodec library from the FFmpeg project, but it uses mainly its own muxer and demuxers and its own protocols implementations. It also gained distinction as the first player to support playback of encrypted DVDs on Linux and OS X by using the libdvdcss DVD decryption library (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VLC_media_player)
  


STATISTICAL PACKAGE FOR SOCIAL SCIENCE (SPSS)
SPSS Statistics is a software package used for statistical analysis. Long produced by SPSS Inc., it was acquired by IBM in 2009, and current versions are officially named IBM SPSS Statistics. Companion products in the same family are used for survey authoring and deployment (IBM SPSS Data Collection), data mining (IBM SPSS Modeler), text analytics, and collaboration and deployment (batch and automated scoring services) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SPSS


Conclusion
Therefore in selecting an appropriate media and technology equipment and programs to be used in the classroom, a teacher should consider the age of learners,  experience, environment and kind of learners in term of disability as well as the teacher’s ability to integrate with the particular
