TED 501: PRESENTATION
•
Question:
Between print media and non print media which one would you use to teach within
a classroom and why?
•
Print
media is information that is in printed form. It is a
newspaper or a magazine that you can hold in your hands and peruse. Non print
media is also known as Electronic media refers to information that is found
online or on an electronic device. Such as blogs, websites and internet.
Non print media.
The picture here is
showing the man who is on line doing various activities.
DIFFERENT BETWEEN PRINT MEDIA AND NON PRINT MEDIA
•
Print media is printed on paper like
books, magazines or newspaper while non media uses electronics to reach
audience, for examples; satellite, telegraph and internet.
•
Print media is the means of making
information known by the use of books, catalogues, journals and magazine while
non print media or Electronic media is printed on a screen somewhere. Like
articles on websites, television documentaries
(http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_the_difference_b...)
•
This means that print media is that
materials which is in hands of the users when he or she wants to obtain a
certain information while non print media should be in electronic instruments
like computer
•
SELECTED MEDIA AND THE REASONS FOR
SELECTING IT.
•
According to our presentation the media
which is suitable to use in the classroom situation is non print media. This is
due to number of factors one among the factor is
•
Fonts, In
non media print designing has a number of font replacing; techniques are used
such as @font-face and Cufón which help in incorporating non standard fonts in
designing for user convenience. When designing for prints you do not have to
worry about fonts displaying properly in a browser. A reader will see the font
which you have specified in the designing process
• Monitor
size; In web designing you will have to take into account different monitor
sizes and screen resolutions but when you are designing for print media
you have a specific print size in mind and will be designing as per that
specific page size.
•
The same picture can be shown in the small size depending on
the size of the screen for instance this pictures here has a narrow screen
Layout Control: The controlling ability of layouts on
a webpage is quite different from different designing tools like Illustrator
and Photoshop. These programs shall help you to move graphics and texts
precisely and just where you desire them. However, tables do not allow such
kind of flexibility.
Storage; the
information can be transmitted and stored in by using tape , CD , DVD, film,
memory card, flash, floppy disk and video computer
The pictures on the slides can be describes as that the
woman who hold the camera is there taking information and after having such
information she has to go the computer room to processes the information and
save to non print media and sometimes she can send elsewhere in the world
• Through
non media you can ask for a job, buy and sell commodities such as books and
personal strengths. Also it can help in distance teaching and learning. For
example, a teacher may be in the office while teaching in the classroom through
projector.
Conclusion
• It
seems that non print media is of value especially to the present globalized
world with much integration of science and technology, dear teachers let us
change from analogy to digital since the world is digital and everything is
digital.

ReplyDeleteDepending on context of our schools every media is acceptable. For example print media fits where there is no power.
ReplyDeleteAlso print media fits to those who are not technological advanced
