Qn 29: Explain how Instructional media and Technology and Methodology that a Teacher is uses to Teach can bring up Effective Teaching.

Definition of key terms

}  Instruction media

}   Instructional media encompasses all the materials and physical means an instructor might use to implement instruction and facilitate students' achievement of instructional objectives.

}   The Instruction media  include traditional materials such as chalkboards, handouts, charts, slides, overheads, real objects, and videotape or film, as well newer materials and methods such as computers, DVDs, CD-ROMs, the Internet, and interactive video conferencing.

}  Is the application of knowledge to the practical aims of human life or to changing and manipulating the human environment. Technology includes the use of materials, tools, techniques, and sources of power to make life easier  and work more productive(encyclopedia)

A teacher

}  A teacher  is a person who provides education for pupils  and students . The role of teacher is often formal and ongoing, carried out at a school or other place of formal education.

A teacher teaching the learners

Methodology

A system of broad principles or rules from which specific methods or procedures may be derived to interpret or solve different problems within the scope of a particular discipline. Unlike an algorithm, a methodology is not a formula but a set of practices.

Types of methodology

Ø  Didactic- Direct teaching; Verbal and typically in the form of a lecture or presentation.

Ø   Modeling- Direct teaching; Visual and typically in the form of demonstration and practice.

Ø   Managerial- Indirect or Interactive teaching; Facilitation, individualization and group management.

Ø   Dialogic- Indirect Interactive teaching; Socratic Technique of dialogue, questions and thought provocations.

Effective teaching

Ø  Is a process where by a teacher is one who has an achievement-motivated personality with a strong commitment and rich teaching experiences. He or she is expected to has a motivation to teach, empathy towards children, and good records at college GPA and student teaching

Ø  Effective teaching involve instructional activities, objectives of teaching and assessment

 Conclusion

}  Effective teaching always can be implemented by a professional teacher who is competent in using technology and methodology of teaching as well as helping students to solve educational problem by ensuring its instruction activities, objectives and assessment in teaching measure the success of learners. Also instructional technology should not be confused with teaching or instruction or learning or engineering but it should be taken as sum total of all such aspects which shaping the personality of the learner in a meaningful context.
