QN 8. How can a teacher avoid risking of integrity
while using Educational Media and Technology?
Education media are those means used to communicate
education issues for the purpose of informing or educating people.
These include Radio, Computer, and television.
Educational technology is an application of
technology of aids and improves human learning.
Risk integrity is to take a chance of something bad
happening to put in danger, immoral or irrespective.
RISKING
INTEGRITY ISSUES WHILE USING EDUCATIONAL MEDIA AND TECHNOLOGY
•
Plagiarism: The unauthorized use or
close imitation of the language and thoughts of another author.
•
Copying: The state of taking materials
from the original source without any modification.
•
Dishonest: The situation of not being
faithful or it is used to describe lack of probity, cheating or lying.
•
Abusively language: In the process of
using educational media and technology, the insult language can happen.
•
The adaption of bad cultures: When using
educational media and technology in teaching and learning process, learners can
imitate bad characteristics which are not their cultures.
•
Poor policy: The policy which does not
limit how to use media and technology can cause conflict among users.
•
Lack of knowledge and skills, The users
when lack how to access media and technology can cause disturbance to others.
•
Bad socialization: Media and technology
can lead to bad relationship when is used wrongly
HOW
TO AVOID RISKING OF INTEGRITY WHILE USING EDUCATIONAL MEDIA AND TECHNOLOGY.
•
Policy making, the government should
make policy which guide the effective
use of educational media and technology. Example only moral pictures are
allowed to be posted, no one can be allowed to post immoral information and
images, if caught can be punished.
•
Alert student to appropriate online
behavior and the proper use of comments or image.
•
The teacher should be competent enough
when using educational media and technology.
•
Maintain a formal and professional tone
in all communication with student,(the teacher should be serious).
•
Avoid exchanging private text, phone
number, personal e-mail address or photos of a personal nature with student.
•
Notify parents or guardians before using
social network s for classroom activities.
Monitor regularly all content of a teacher or others
post to the social media accounts remove
anything that is inappropriate.
Use films, Photos, videos or audio
recording which relates with and consider the level, age, ethics and culture of
the leaners.
The teacher should think about diversity
learners, Such as disabled learners like blind and deaf.
Prior preparation of learning and teaching environment before using media and technology.
CONCLUSION
Although there are
various risk when teaching by using
educational media and technology, still there are several advantages like, it
simplify teaching and learning process, create interest to the learners
,sharing information or skills and it increase knowledge and skills.
